The Department of International Business was established on October 1, 2019, under the new Statute of the University of Gdańsk. It is a direct successor to the Institute of International Business, which was founded in 1970. Originally a teaching and research unit within the Faculty of Transport Economics, it now operates as part of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk.

The Department's scientific and teaching work is carried out by the following organizational units:

  • Department of International Financial Markets,
  • • Department of Marketing Strategies.

At the Department of International Business, we prioritize close collaboration with enterprises as well as public and local government institutions. This approach allows us to effectively integrate theoretical knowledge with practical business applications, forming a key component of our students' education. For many years, we have maintained strong partnerships with over 50 foreign research centers through the Erasmus+ program and bilateral agreements beyond Europe, including South Korea and Egypt. These collaborations provide students with opportunities to study abroad and enable our academic staff to enhance their teaching and research skills through internships at partner universities.
