Economics: Business Intelligence in Open Economy (in Polish)

 

The graduate possesses knowledge in the area of conducting business analysis (business intelligence), including the tools used for this purpose. This knowledge particularly encompasses:

  • Fundamental concepts of business transformation processes in an open, global economy, aimed at enhancing market competitiveness;
  • The functioning of the modern business services market in Poland and other countries, in the context of globalization and increasing innovation pressure;
  • Applying selected aspects of psychology in decision-making processes, particularly in the context of change management and the principles of creating and operating social networks;
  • Basics of designing and operating database systems;
  • Fundamentals of industrial organization, modern processes shaping the relationships between market structure, enterprise operations, and their efficiency and innovation.

Graduates develop skills in collecting and transforming statistical data into information, and subsequently, information into knowledge useful for businesses. Specifically, they gain expertise in:

  • Participating in the implementation of sustainable changes in national and global business organizations to enhance their competitiveness;
  • Entrepreneurial and creative thinking, resilience to failures, and finding ways to counteract risks in business within an open/global economy;
  • Data processing and creating IT systems based on relational databases;
  • Transforming data for effective visualization to support tactical and strategic decision-making in business processes in an open and dynamic economy;
  • Market analysis to implement business solutions or modify behaviors;
  • Applying statistical and econometric methods to conduct research, verify decision hypotheses, and create forecasts.

Learning outcomes and employment prospects:

The learning outcomes enable graduates to work in enterprises operating in an open/global economy under innovation pressure and dynamic changes, especially in the modern business services sector.

In Pomerania, numerous companies require employees skilled in collecting and transforming statistical data into information, and subsequently into knowledge that serves as the foundation for developing competitiveness enhancement programs.

The Tri-City area is a metropolitan region where the employment growth rate in the modern business services sector is the highest in Poland (ABSL, 2021, Business Services Sector in Poland 2021, Warsaw). This indicates promising job opportunities and potential for rapid career advancement.
