For the 9th edition of the competition, supervisors at the Faculty of Economics submitted the best theses defended between October 1, 2021, and September 30, 2022.

In the Bachelor's thesis category, the following theses were nominated:

  • Jakub Wilkowski, Pros and Cons of Joining the Eurozone, supervisor: Elżbieta Babula, PhD
  • Weronika Rubiszewska, Determinants of Investment in Precious Stones: The Case of Diamonds, supervisor: Sylwia Pangsy-Kania, Associate Professor

  • Maciej Łojek, The Impact of COVID-19 on the Financial Situation of Selected European Football Clubs, supervisor: Magdalena Mosionek-Schweda, Associate Professor
  • Andrzej Koślicki, The Hollywood Phenomenon on the Global Film Market, supervisor: Monika Grottel, PhD

Based on the reviews conducted in the first stage of the evaluation at the Faculty of Economics, the two best theses were selected to advance to the national level stage.

  • 2nd place – Marceli Hązła, University of Economics in Poznań, for the thesis The Development of Selected Economies in the Face of Discontinuities in Globalization Processes, supervisor: Ewa Mińska-Struzik, Associate Professor
  • 3rd place – Jakub Lesiak, University of Economics in Kraków, for the thesis The Competitiveness of Industrial Production in the Visegrad Group Economies in the Context of the EU Climate and Energy Policy, supervisor: Marta Ulbrych, PhD

The official announcement of the competition results will occur on June 21, 2023, during the national educational seminar organized online by the University of Gdańsk.
