VI Edition of the National Competition for the Best Thesis in International Economics Relations

From the theses submitted by supervisors at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk, two works were selected for the national stage of the competition. These were rated the highest by departmental reviewers and chosen for further evaluation:

Master's Thesis:

Karolina Wierzba, Spanish FDI from 2008 to 2018 with Special Emphasis on Poland Supervisor: Krystyna Żołądkiewicz, Associate Professor
Bachelor's Thesis:

Adrianna Podgórska, The Importance of Behavioral Aspects in Investment Decision-Making: A Case Study of the Market Anomalies, Supervisor: Łukasz Dopierała, PhD

Announcement of the Laureates of the VI Edition of the National Competition for the Best Thesis in International Economics Relations

On October 15, 2020, the results of the competition's sixth edition for the best thesis were announced during an online conference. The event was organized by the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). The Competition's Committee selected the laureates based on reviews conducted at seven participating universities: University of Łódź, University of Gdańsk, Poznań University of Economics, Warsaw School of Economics, Kraków University of Economics, Wrocław University of Economics, and the University of Economics in Katowice.

The National Competition for the best Master's and Bachelor's theses in the field of International Economic Relations has been honored with the patronage of the Ministry of Development, Labor, and Technology.

 

 

In the master's thesis category, first place was awarded to Ms. Joanna Siebert for her thesis titled The Influence of the Presence of Women on Boards of Directors and Firm Performance in Publicly Listed Enterprises in Poland and Germany, University of Economics in Krakow, supervised by Piotr Stanek, Associate Professor.

In the bachelor's thesis category, first place was awarded to Ms. Adrianna Podgórska for her thesis titled The Importance of Behavioral Aspects in Investment Decision-Making on the Example of Market Anomalies, University of Gdańsk, supervised by Łukasz Dopierała, PhD.

In both the master's and bachelor's thesis categories, second and third places were not awarded.

The laureates and their supervisors received special recognition diplomas.
