LogoWe are pleased to inform you that the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology (www.gov.pl/mpit) has patronized the 5th edition of the competition for the best thesis in international economic relations.
 

 

Among the master's and bachelor's theses submitted by supervisors at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk, defended in the academic year 2017/18, two theses were selected based on the highest ratings from faculty reviewers and forwarded to the next stage of the national competition. These were as follows:

(Bachelor's thesis) Patrycja Majdak, Cyber Risk Insurance as a Tool for Protecting Entrepreneurs from the Effects of Cyber Attacks,
Supervisor: Danuta Marciniak-Neider, Professor

(Master's thesis) Gracja Borowska, Digital Leadership for Digital Transformation. A Case Study of Faurecia Company,
Supervisor: Aneta Oniszczuk-Jastrząbek, Associate Professor

 

Award Ceremony for Winners of the 5th Edition of the Master's Thesis Competition

On May 21, 2019, the University of Economics in Wrocław hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the 5th edition of the competition for the best master's thesis in the field of International Economic Relations. The prizes were awarded by the Competition Chapter, which consists of:

Winners of the 5th Edition of the Master's Thesis Competition

In the category of Master's Theses:

1st Place:
M.A. Monika Wiercińska – for the master's thesis defended at the University of Economics in Katowice titled Country of Origin as a Determinant of Consumer Purchase Behavior in the Apparel Market.
Supervisor: Grzegorz Maciejewski, Associate Professor

2nd Place:
M.A. Gracja Borowska – for the master's thesis defended at the University of Gdańsk titled Digital Leadership for Digital Transformation. Case Study of Faurecia Company.
Supervisor: Aneta Oniszczuk-Jastrząbek, Associate Professor

3rd Place:
M.A. Katarzyna Stefaniuk – for the master's thesis defended at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) titled Digital Nomadism – Buzzword, Temporary Trend, or the Future of the Economy?
Supervisor: Marcin Wojtysiak-Kotlarski, Associate Professor

 

Winners in the Category of Bachelor's Theses in the 5th Edition of the Competition

1st Place:
Mateusz Maruszewski – for the bachelor's thesis defended at the University of Economics in Kraków titled The Impact of Technological Progress on Economic Inequalities: A Case Study of the United States.
Supervisor: Elżbieta Bombińska, PhD

2nd Place:
This place was not awarded.

3rd Place:
Natalia Wojtaszuk – for the bachelor's thesis defended at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) titled The Inflow of Foreign Direct Investment from China to the European Union in the Years 2008-2016.
Supervisor: Krzysztof Falkowski, PhD

 

The diplomas were presented by Hanna Treder, Associate Professor and Chair of the Competition Chapter. The supervisors of the winning theses received special recognition diplomas.

The award ceremony for the fifth edition of the competition took place on May 21, 2019, at the University of Economics in Wrocław.
