Study Visit of WE Students to the Warsaw Metro and Enter Air
On 19 May, fourth-semester Master’s students in Economics, Logistics specialisation, took part in a study trip to Warsaw. The group was supervised by dr hab. Dariusz Tłoczyński, prof. UG, and mgr Anna Michalska-Szajer from the Department of Transport Market.
The first item on the programme was a visit to the Warsaw Metro, during which the students learned about the operation of Poland’s only metro system. Topics discussed included the organisation of transport services, safety issues, infrastructure maintenance, quality management and passenger flows. Particular attention was also paid to communication with passengers and relations with stakeholders, which support the efficient organisation and logistics of public transport services.
The next stage of the trip was a visit to the Main Operations Centre of the airline Enter Air. The students had the opportunity to see how airline operations are managed in practice, including the coordination of operational processes and responses to current conditions in the air transport market. The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the current situation in the air transport sector.
The study visits enriched the educational process with a practical dimension, allowing students to relate the knowledge acquired during classes to real-life solutions used in the transport sector. Direct contact with representatives of urban and air transport enabled the participants to gain a better understanding of issues related to the organisation of transport services, safety, quality management and the logistics of transport services.
