Study visit of staff and students from the University of Applied Sciences in Bremen

On March 3-5, 2025, a group of students and academic staff from Hochschule Bremen (University of Applied Sciences) , prof. Christiane True, Ann Pujkiewicz and Laura Frey, visited the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk.

Our guests had the opportunity to participate in the lectures and meetings both at the University of Gdańsk and in its surroundings. An important element of the visit was a lecture given by Prof. Christiane True "Trustworthy AI for Public Administration and Finance".

Prof. Christiane True is the Professor of Public Law, Head of the Master's program in European Studies, International Graduate Center of Bremen University of Applied Sciences, and Head of the dual degree program in Public Administration.

Students collaborated during workshops and discussions in groups inspired by the topics: AI Act regulation - too much bureaucracy or maintaining freedom for innovation? and AI Act - a tool to overcome business and public administration staff shortages?

Students staying as guests at the University of Gdańsk met during lectures and a workshop with first and second year students of International Business and second year students of International Economic Relations, specialising in international finance and banking.

An important element of the visit was a meeting with the Mayor of Sopot, Ms. Magdalena Czarzyńska-Jachim, and representatives of the Ukrainian Support Centre.

During the long and emotional meeting, the guests learned about the city's functioning, public administration and support for migrants. We would like to thank Ms. Katarzyna Choczaj, Director at the Sopot City Office, for organising the visit.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held at the modern Welcome Centre in the University of Gdańsk Library. German students also admired the library's form and infrastructure, including facilities for foreign students.

The visit also included the Olivia Business Centre, the Museum of the Second World War and the European Solidarity Centre.

The visit is part of the long-standing cooperation between the University of Gdańsk and Hochschule Bremen, which includes organising international student exchanges, numerous conferences, scientific publications and guest lectures by academic staff at partner universities.
