Economic Inequalities
Together, we will reflect on the factors that determine why the distribution of wealth in society is uneven. Does citizens’ prosperity depend solely on their own actions, or is it shaped primarily by external conditions beyond their control? What role does the state play? What does a fair distribution of income mean? We will examine the scale of inequality in highly developed countries and explore current trends in this area.

The focus of the tutorial will depend on the participants’ interests: the wealthiest segments of society, the middle class, issues of poverty, the causes of observed trends (e.g., digitalization of work, the Fourth Industrial Revolution), and ways of reducing inequality (such as investment in education or progressive taxation).

In addition to honing research skills, the aim of the tutorial is for each participant to develop their own view on what they consider the most just model of income distribution in society.

You are warmly invited!

There are countless topics to explore: population aging, automation and digitalization of work, the gig economy, modern forms of employment, jobs of the future, work–life balance, lifelong learning – just to name a few. Whatever aspect of the labor market sparks your interest, I invite you to join me!
