PDW (FACULTATIVE SUBJECT) MODE
PDW 'Economics in Academic Tutoring' is a facultative subject offered to students studying on-site at the Faculty of Economics. By completing tutoring sessions in this mode students acquire ECTS points.
Syllabus for 'Economics in Academic Tutoring' for undergraduate students
Syllabus for 'Economics in Academic Tutoring' for postgraduate students
'Economics in Academic Tutoring' is offered as part of a group of elective subjects. In justified cases, students who are not required to take an elective subject in a given semester according to the study program can choose to participate in this subject. In such cases, this subject is treated as an advanced study at the student's request.
A student who wishes to take part in academic tutoring must have successfully completed all required credits and exams, i.e., completed all semesters of study, earned the required number of ECTS points, and have no other outstanding obligations to the university.
During their studies at a given level, a student may participate in academic tutoring as PDW only once.
TUTORING – ‘RECTOR’S MODE (INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS)
This is offered as an additional activity for students at the Faculty of Economics, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Full-time students can participate in these sessions regardless of their participation in PDW tutoring sessions, either prior to or later in their studies. Each student can take part in one tutorial session during a semester. Successful completion of these tutorial sessions will be recorded in the diploma supplement upon graduation. The duration of a tutorial is determined individually by the tutor and tutee, with up to 15 hours allowed per student per semester.
The pool of hours allocated for tutorial sessions in the 'rector's mode' is determined by the Dean and for the academic year 2023/24, it is set at 200 hours. The allocation of hours depends on the order of applications, which tutors submit by providing their tutee's details along with the number of planned tutorial hours to the faculty tutoring coordinator. During one semester, a tutor may conduct no more than two tutorials, with the condition that one tutorial may be conducted for one student.
Registrations for tutoring sessions may be made during the semester (excluding the examination session) subject to the availability of hours from the pool.
A student who wishes to take part in academic tutoring must have successfully completed all required credits and exams, i.e., completed all semesters of study, earned the required number of ECTS points, and have no other outstanding obligations to the university.
