Representatives of the Faculty of Economics participated in the Regional Forum of the Year of Economic Education – Educational Impulses 2024

The year 2024 was a special time for economic education in Poland. We celebrated many special anniversaries, the celebration of which was related to significant events for the Polish economy and education in economics and finance.
These were in particular:

  • anniversary of Władysław Grabski's economic reforms,
  • anniversary of the creation of the Polish złoty,
  • anniversary of the creation of the Bank of Poland,
  • anniversary of the creation of the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego,
  • anniversary of the economic reforms of Władysław Grabski,
  • anniversary of the publication of the book "Bankruptcy of Little Dżek" by Janusz Korczak.

To celebrate them, 2024 was established by the Senate's resolution as the Year of Economic Education.

The REE was initiated by six organizations, such
as: the Youth Entrepreneurship Foundation, the Czepczyński Family Foundation, the Warsaw Institute of Banking Foundation, the Polish Economic Society, the GPW Foundation and the Polish Scouting Association, and the honorary and program committees included, among others, the Marshals of the Sejm and Senate, ministers, representatives of the most important public institutions, the world of science, industry and business organizations.

The REE initiative also provided important support for implementing a new economics subject in upper secondary schools (Business and Management) and the National Financial Education Strategy.

The Year of Economic Education announced by the Senate of the Republic of Poland is not only an appreciation of the role of generations involved in the development of financial education, but above all an inspiration for action for the future. Many events within the framework of the REE took place in the Tri-City. An important milestone was the summary of the REE during the Regional Forum of the Year of Economic Education - Educational Impulses 2024 organized on December 7, 2024 in the Scout House in Gdańsk.
