About the School

About the School

The doctoral school is a form of education for doctoral students, preparing them to obtain the academic degree of doctor. It was established on the basis of the Act of July 20, 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668, as amended).

In line with the idea of doctoral schools, the education program is designed to develop competencies necessary for conducting scientific research and for teaching in higher education. Classes at the doctoral school are conducted by academic staff from the University of Gdańsk as well as invited guests from other national and international institutions. Doctoral students have access to modern research infrastructure, and classes take place on university premises – at the faculties, in the Main Library, and in other units of the University.
