Award for a Master's Thesis in the "Verba Veritatis" Competition for an International Finance and Banking Graduate
Mgr. Agnieszka Nowak received a special award in the 5th edition of the "Verba Veritatis" competition for the best master's thesis in business ethics, organized by the Conference of Financial Companies. Her thesis, titled "Codification, Implementation, and Application of Best Practices by Financial Institutions," was supervised by Prof. Danuta Marciniak-Neider. The award ceremony took place on October 21, 2010, in Warsaw during the conference "Praxeological and Ethical Aspects of Leadership in Business."
Award for a Master's Thesis in the Polish Insurance Association Competition for an International Finance and Banking Graduate
Joanna Adamska received the second prize in the 6th edition of the Leon Kozicki competition for the best diploma theses in insurance for her master's thesis titled "Securitization as a Method of Transferring Mortality Risk," supervised by Prof. Danuta Marciniak-Neider. The judging panel noted the originality and ambition of the topic. The award ceremony took place on October 12, 2010, at the Business Centre Club in Warsaw.
Nomination of the International Finance Students' Club for the Red Rose Award
In 2010, the International Finance Students' Club at the Faculty of Economics received its third nomination from the Rector for the Red Rose Award as the best student club at the University of Gdańsk. The nomination highlights the club's recognition for organizing annual conferences on "Trends in Finance and Banking Development in Poland and Worldwide" featuring prominent professionals and academics, publishing professional Student Scientific Journals and conference proceedings, and organizing year-round workshops and lectures under the "Training Academy."
Rector's Awards for International Finance and Banking Students
Michał Dominik and Dawid Zieliński received the Rector's Second-Degree Award for academic performance in the 2009/2010 academic year. Robert Jaś, Malwina Łączyńska, and Magdalena Laskowska were awarded the Rector's Third-Degree Award for social activities during the same academic year.
Ministry of Science and Higher Education Scholarship for an International Finance and Banking Student
Dawid Zieliński received a scholarship from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for academic achievements in the 2010/2011 academic year, being the only student from the Faculty of Economics to earn this distinction.
International Finance and Banking Graduate Recognized in a Prestigious Competition!
Mgr. Justyna Walkusz, the author of a master's thesis titled "The Investment Fund Market in Luxembourg Compared to Other Countries," supervised by Dr. Sławomir Antkiewicz, received a distinction in the competition for the best master's theses in investment funds organized by the Chamber of Fund Managers and Assets. The award ceremony took place on December 11, 2009, recognizing the high quality of the 26 submitted theses.
International Finance and Banking Student Awarded in a Prestigious Competition! (2009 Edition)
Joanna Grechuta, a student of International Finance and Banking at the University of Gdańsk, won the 4th edition of the "Verba Veritatis" competition with her master's thesis titled "Rating Agencies, Investment Companies, and Audit Firms as External Sources of Financial Information," supervised by Prof. Danuta Marciniak-Neider. The award ceremony took place on October 15, 2009, in Warsaw during the conference on "Ethical and Praxeological Aspects of the Financial Crisis."
Lucjan Hofman Prize of the Polish Economic Society for an International Finance and Banking Graduate
Magdalena Kawka, a 2009 graduate of International Finance and Banking at the University of Gdańsk, won the Lucjan Hofman Prize in the competition for the best master's theses on contemporary economic issues, organized by the Polish Economic Society in Gdańsk. Her thesis, "Hedge Funds as an Alternative Investment Form," was supervised by Dr. Sławomir Antkiewicz. The award ceremony took place on March 24, 2010.
Awards for Master's Theses
In the 11th edition of the national competition organized by Kredyt Bank S.A. and WARTA S.A. for the best master's theses in insurance and banking, the following graduates of International Finance and Banking received distinctions:
- In the insurance category: Izabela Łapińska for her thesis "The Transfer of Natural Disaster Risk to the Capital Market."
- In the banking category: Joanna Skowyra for her thesis "Bank Consolidation Processes in the New EU Member States."
The award ceremony took place on June 10, 2009, in Warsaw. Łukasz Bartosiewicz also received an award in a national competition organized by the Bank Guarantee Fund for his thesis "Deposit Guarantee Systems in Latin America, Asia, and Africa." The ceremony was held on May 21, 2009, during a scientific conference organized by the BGF and the Cooperative Banking Development Foundation.
All these theses were supervised by Prof. Danuta Marciniak-Neider.
Publications
In 2008, two books were published as versions of the master's theses by laureates of the 9th edition of the WARTA and Kredyt Bank competition in Warsaw for the best theses in insurance, banking, and bancassurance:
- "Mortgage Banking in Poland" by Mgr. Karolina Muża, supervised by Prof. Danuta Marciniak-Neider.
- "The Development of Bancassurance with Particular Emphasis on Poland" by Mgr. Anna Gulbinowicz, supervised by Dr. Sławomir Antkiewicz.

In the 2006/2007 academic year, the following students received scholarships from the Minister of Education and Higher Education:

International Finance and Banking Student Awarded in the Skandia Poland Opportunity Program 2005
Magdalena Grabowska, a student of International Finance and Banking, secured third place in the 5th edition of the Skandia Poland Opportunity Program 2005 for her project "Underwriting of Municipal Bonds." The competition was organized by Skandia Życie S.A., and the second stage took place from July 7-10, 2005, in Konstancin.
International Finance and Banking Students Awarded in the "Win an Internship at ING Bank Śląski" Competition in 2005
Kamila Klein and Andrzej Uzdrowski, 4th-year students specializing in International Finance and Banking, won the competition organized by the Faculty of Economics and ING Bank Śląski. The winners were selected based on essays on freely chosen topics.
International Finance and Banking Student Named Best Graduate of Dublin Institute of Technology
Andrzej Moszczyński, a 5th-year student of International Finance and Banking, studied at Dublin Institute of Technology as part of the Erasmus-Socrates program. He graduated with the highest honors and was awarded a Diploma in Business Management along with a gold medal.
Prof. Witold Kula Award for an International Finance and Banking Graduate
On March 22, 2005, the Prof. Witold Kula Award Committee announced the winners of the 12th edition of the BISE competition. Among the laureates was Mgr. Paweł Pietrzak, who received third prize for his master's thesis titled "Macroeconomic Implications of Poland's Accession to the European Economic and Monetary Union," supervised by Prof. Danuta Marciniak-Neider.
