UG 50th Anniversary Medal for a Division Staff Member
The closing of the 50th-anniversary celebrations of the University of Gdańsk was marked by the awarding of the 50th Anniversary Medals to individuals who significantly contributed to the development of the university. Among the recipients was Prof. Danuta Marciniak-Neider.

Mrongowiusz 2020 for a Division Staff Member
Among the laureates of the 2020 Teacher of the Year Award named after Krzysztof Celestyn Mrongowiusz was Dr. Magdalena Markiewicz.
The Mrongowiusz Awards recognize exceptional academic achievements of UG teachers who are highly esteemed by students. Faculty-student councils nominate candidates, and a specially appointed Competition Committee comprising students and faculty members reviews the nominations.
The award's patron, Krzysztof Celestyn Mrongowiusz (1764-1855), was an outstanding Gdańsk educator and scholar, known for preserving Polish identity in Pomerania.

Visit of Division Staff to Tralee Institute of Technology (Ireland) under the Erasmus+ Program
From February 10-14, 2020, Dr. Magdalena Markiewicz and Dr. Iwona Sobol visited Tralee Institute of Technology (Ireland) under the Erasmus+ Program. The visit included a series of lectures for International Business students and meetings with faculty and university authorities to discuss further collaboration between the Faculty of Economics, UG, and Tralee Institute of Technology. A key focus of these meetings was discussing the course and outcomes of cooperation between Tralee Institute and its external environment.

Visit of Division Staff to University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” (Bulgaria) under the Erasmus+ Program
From May 27-31, 2019, Dr. Magdalena Markiewicz and Dr. Iwona Sobol visited University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” (Bulgaria) under the Erasmus+ Program. The visit included lectures and seminars for Business and Management students, as well as consultations with doctoral students. Additionally, meetings at a European funds advisory center for SMEs were held to discuss evaluation and funding processes for Bulgarian SMEs.
Anniversary of a Division Staff Member
On December 20, 2017, a festive meeting of the Foreign Trade Institute UG staff took place. The event was particularly special as it celebrated the 70th birthdays of four Professors who have been associated with the Faculty of Economics, UG, for nearly 50 years, being either graduates of UG or its predecessor, the Higher School of Economics, on which the faculty was established.
Among the celebrants was Prof. Danuta Marciniak-Neider, a long-term head of the Division of International Financial Markets and former Director of the Foreign Trade Institute.

Medal of the National Education Commission
Dr. Magdalena Markiewicz was awarded the Medal of the National Education Commission, granted by the Minister of National Education for outstanding contributions to education and upbringing. The award ceremony was held on October 2, 2014, during the official inauguration of the 2014/2015 academic year at the Faculty of Economics, University of Gdańsk, with the presentation by the Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Grzegorz Węgrzyn.
Bronze Medal for Long Service for Dr. Urszula Mrzygłód
Dr. Urszula Mrzygłód was awarded the Bronze Medal for Long Service, recognizing exemplary and exceptionally diligent performance of professional duties. The ceremony took place on March 20, 2014, at a special meeting of the UG Senate.
Establishment of a Trading Laboratory at UG Faculty of Economics
Since 2014, the Division of International Financial Markets has overseen the innovative Trading Laboratory, established jointly by the Faculty of Economics, UG, and OSTC Poland. The laboratory offers students a unique opportunity to test their skills in an environment reflecting that of professional traders on global financial markets. It is used for conducting classes for students of the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Management, including courses on technical analysis, investment strategies, and financial markets. Workshops led by OSTC managers are also held there. The laboratory's added value is access to detailed and up-to-date market data. The laboratory supervisor is Dr. Magdalena Mosionek-Schweda.

Prof. Danuta Marciniak-Neider was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for outstanding achievements in education and science. The award ceremony took place during a special meeting of the UG Senate on March 20, 2012.
Teacher of the Year Award
Dr. Sławomir Antkiewicz from the Division of International Monetary Relations, Foreign Trade Institute, UG, was distinguished by the Commission for the "Teacher of the Year" Award named after Krzysztof Celestyn Mrongowiusz.
The awards recognize outstanding academic achievements among UG's best teachers, with the awards being established in 2007 by the UG Rector to mark the 60th anniversary of the graduation of the first alumni of the Higher School of Maritime Trade.
The ceremony took place on March 18, 2011, during a special meeting of the UG Senate.
