International Business and Global Economy

The academic journal IBAGE – International Business and Global Economy is published by the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk. It has a long-standing tradition that is closely linked to the history of the Institute of International Business of the University of Gdańsk, which edited and published this scholarly yearbook for several decades.

The first issue of the journal was published in 1973 under the title Prace i Materiały Instytutu Ekonomiki Handlu Zagranicznego (Research Papers of the Institute of Foreign Trade Economics). In 2013, the journal adopted its current name: International Business and Global Economy. The high quality of the articles published over the years has been ensured by successive editors-in-chief: Prof. Hanna Treder, Dr Urszula Mrzygłód, Dr Katarzyna Bałandynowicz-Panfil, and Dr Joanna Adamska-Mieruszewska. Since 2021, the editor-in-chief has been Professor Jacek Zaucha, PhD, DSc, who leads a team of subject editors.

Thanks to the work of these individuals and the contributing authors, the journal has earned a respected reputation within the academic community. We take pride in our tradition, experience, and commitment to scholarly integrity. As a modern platform, we actively contribute to contemporary academic discourse by connecting researchers, authors, readers, and reviewers. Our goal is to foster openness and facilitate the exchange of ideas.

We are committed to the internationalization of the journal and aim to regain our position among the top-rated academic journals.

Our editorial policy is guided by the added value a submission brings to theoretical and practical knowledge, its substantive and methodological soundness, and the overall academic quality of the writing. We kindly ask reviewers to consider these criteria in their evaluations. To ensure objectivity, we follow a double-blind peer review process, protecting the anonymity of both authors and reviewers.
