University of Gdańsk Faculty of Economics Graduate Wins First Place in International Economic Relations Thesis National Competition

We are very proud to announce that Alicja Orchowska, M.A., a graduate of the University of Gdańsk Faculty of Economics with a major in International Economic Relations, won first place in the 12th edition of the National Competition for the Best Master's Thesis in International Economic Relations.

The winning master's thesis, titled "Cultural Differences in Online Promotion of Samsung Electronics Products in Europe and Asia," was written under the supervision of Dr. Marcin Krzaczek from the Department of International Business, Marketing Strategies Division.

The awards ceremony took place on June 26, 2026, in Wrocław. The competition, organised since 2014 by seven leading universities specialising in International Economic Relations, is the most prestigious award for graduates of this field in Poland. Ms. Alicja's work stood out from all the entries in this edition – the Competition Jury awarded prizes only for first and third place, leaving second place vacant due to the regulatory requirements regarding the point threshold. This achievement is all the more valuable as it demonstrates the exceptional substantive level of the awarded work.

After the ceremony, the winner shared her joy and expressed deep gratitude for the recognition of her research efforts. She emphasised that receiving the award is not only a source of satisfaction for her, but above all, a great inspiration and motivation to continue her research and further development in the field of international economic relations.
