Blended Intensive Program (BIP) “Doing Business in Europe” at the City University of Applied Sciences in Bremen

From 18 to 22 May 2026, students participated in the international Blended Intensive Program (BIP) “Doing Business in Europe”, organized in cooperation with Hochschule Bremen – City University of Applied Sciences. The program brought together participants from Germany, Poland, Czechia, Luxembourg, and Portugal, who worked collaboratively in international teams while developing their business and intercultural competencies.

The program was conducted in a blended learning format, combining virtual and on-site components. In April and May 2026, participants attended a series of online meetings on international accounting via Zoom. The culminating stage was a week-long stay in Bremen, during which students took part in an intensive business simulation game. Throughout the activities, participants managed a virtual company and made strategic business decisions in a realistic international environment.

An important part of the program was also a workshop on intercultural communication, prepared and conducted by Prof. Joanna Bednarz and Dr. Magdalena Markiewicz. The workshop enabled students to gain a deeper understanding of cultural differences in an international environment and highlighted the importance of effective communication and cooperation in multicultural teams.

The BIP provided a unique opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience and to gain insight into working in an international business environment. In addition to academic activities, participants had the opportunity to integrate into and explore the region's culture through joint activities and visits to Bremen and Hamburg. Particularly noteworthy were the study visits to the Mercedes-Benz factory and the Union brewery, which allowed participants to better understand how companies operate in the global market.

Participation in the program enabled students to develop their professional, language, and interpersonal skills while also strengthening long-term international cooperation among partner universities.
