UG students on the international Erasmus+ BIP program at Newton University in Prague
On 2–6 February 2026, a group of students from the University of Gdańsk — Alicja Fedor, Wojciech Fedor, and Bartłomiej Menażyk — representing the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Chemistry, participated in the international Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) entitled “Student Research Week.” The event was hosted by Newton University in Prague.
The central theme of the programme was global entrepreneurship. The main academic task required participants to design and prepare a research poster analysing barriers faced by entrepreneurs in a selected country and industry. The results of their work were presented during the 19th scientific conference of the European Forum of Entrepreneurship, held on the Prague campus of Newton University.
The academic programme was further enriched by expert lectures and practical workshops. Students attended presentations delivered, among others, by Prof. S. Bobowski and Prof. P. Dobrzański from the Wrocław University of Economics and Business, who addressed the role and operations of credit rating agencies. Participants also took part in workshops on Agile project management methodology conducted by Prof. Michal Greguš from Comenius University Bratislava.
The intensive academic schedule was complemented by networking and cultural activities. Participants had the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of Czech beer brewing and joined a guided tour of Prague’s most significant historical landmarks, fostering integration within an international academic community.
The BIP coordinator at the Faculty of Economics was dr Magdalena Markiewicz, Deputy Dean for Development and Cooperation with the Social and Economic Environment.
