Collaboration Between the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk and LPP

We are delighted to share news of another event organized as part of the ongoing collaboration between the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk and the company LPP.

As part of the International Business Communication course, offered within the Foreign Trade specialization of the International Economic Relations program, third-year undergraduate Students had the opportunity to participate in a series of educational and hands-on activities.

The first stage was a meeting at the Faculty of Economics. Ms. Anna Stasiewicz and Ms. Paula Sznigir-Lebiedzińska delivered an engaging presentation on the specifics of working as a business analyst and a buyer. The presentation was met with great interest and served as an excellent introduction to the next phase of the collaboration.

Following this, the Students, divided into two groups, took part in study visits to LPP’s headquarters, where they participated in specially prepared workshops that allowed them to step into the role of assistant buyers. They had the chance to learn who a fashion buyer is, what key competencies are essential for this position, how daily cooperation with international suppliers is carried out, and why communication skills are just as important as trend awareness and data analysis. Thanks to the openness, professionalism, and excellent preparation of the entire LPP team, the students gained firsthand insight into the realities of working in the fashion industry and developed valuable skills in international business communication, data analysis, and supplier relations.

We also greatly appreciated the career counseling part. The tips on CV preparation and the recruitment process proved extremely helpful and inspiring for Students thinking about their future careers.

At the end of the visit, the Students had the opportunity to tour the modern offices at LPP headquarters and observe the daily work of teams responsible for purchasing, planning, and coordinating collections.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Julita Fojutowska-Hein and Ms. Katarzyna Rachwalska-Groning, as well as to all members of the LPP team, for their commitment, kindness, and openness.

The meetings, workshops, and study visits were organized by Prof. Joanna Bednarz.
