Call for Applications for a Study Visit at University of São Paulo, Brazil – Winter Semester 2026/2027 (For doctoral candidates only)

As part of the Erasmus+ KA171 (2025) programme and international cooperation, doctoral candidates are invited to apply for a study visit at the University of São Paulo for the winter semester of the 2026/2027 academic year.

This offer is addressed exclusively to participants of the Doctoral School at the Faculty of Economics, University of Gdańsk.

Conditions of the Mobility

The mobility is carried out under the Erasmus+ KA171 programme and includes:

• long-term mobility for the purpose of completing part of the study programme, 
• financial support of approximately EUR 700 per month and a travel lump sum. 

Selected participants are required to complete a study programme agreed upon in the Learning Agreement, covering a minimum of 30 ECTS credits (in accordance with programme rules).

The language of instruction at the host institution is English.

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit a complete set of documents, including:

• a motivation letter, 
• an official transcript of records certified by the Doctoral School Office, 
• a record of academic achievements – printout from the Knowledge Base, 
• documents confirming proficiency in the language of instruction (English is mandatory; Portuguese is an asset as it expands access to courses at the host institution), 
• other documents, including confirmation of project and organizational activities. 

Selection Criteria

The selection process is qualitative and takes into account:

• academic achievements and previous course of study, 
• consistency of the planned mobility with the doctoral dissertation topic, 
• language competence, including documented English proficiency at a minimum level of B2 (knowledge of Portuguese is an advantage), 
• level of motivation and readiness to work in an international environment, 
• independence and ability to adapt to a new academic environment. 

Additionally, Erasmus+ programme rules apply, in particular:

• individuals who have already used their full mobility quota are not eligible, 
• the study programme must comply with ECTS requirements. 

Full mobility quota refers to the maximum total duration of participation in the Erasmus+ programme at a given level of study, which is up to 12 months for doctoral studies (third-cycle studies). It includes all previous study and/or traineeship mobilities under Erasmus+.

Interviews

Selected candidates will be invited to an interview, which will take place between 25–27 May 2026.

Results of the Selection Process

• Applicants will be informed of the results via email by 10 June 2026. 
• Selected doctoral candidates are required to inform their doctoral school/administrative office about the planned mobility. 
• Please do not contact the partner university directly at this stage.
