The Faculty of Economics hosted a meeting of the Steering Committee of the international NICE Network
On 11-13 February 2026, at the Faculty of Economics we hosted a meeting of the Steering Committee of the international NICE Network.
NICE Network (Network for International Cooperation in Economics) is an international network bringing together higher education institutions from various European countries and creating a platform for long-term academic cooperation. Its mission is to develop joint educational and research initiatives, organize recurring conferences, exchange best practices in teaching and learning, and strengthen the internationalization of partner institutions.
The meeting in Sopot was attended by representatives of partner universities:
- Thomas Hoffmann, Hochschule Nordhausen, Germany,
- Vladimíra Koutná and Jitka Lidaříková, Moravská vysoká škola Olomouc, Czech Republic,
- Andrea Meyenburg, Hochschule Emden/Leer, Germany,
- Regina Parzer, IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences, Austria,
- Bill O’Mahony, Technological University Dublin, Ireland,
- Dinand Warringa, Hogeschool Windesheim Zwolle, the Netherlands.
The agenda included further clarification of the strategic mission, future development directions, and working methods of the NICE Network. A significant part of the meeting was devoted to preparations for the June gathering of all NICE Network members, which will take place at Technological University Dublin. Participants worked on the preliminary conference agenda and selected the proposed workshops.
The meeting was organized at the invitation of Professor Joanna Bednarz, a long-standing member of the NICE Network Steering Committee and the Faculty Authorities. It was not only an intensive working session but also an important step in strengthening long-term partnerships and enhancing the position of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk within European academic networks.
