Logistics Students Club invites you to the Meeting with Logistics Practice which will take place on December 8th at 9:45 a.m. in room C301. This time, the speaker will be Jacek Wołochowski, Head of the Operations and Chartering Division at Polfracht Sp. z o.o..

Jacek Wołochowski, Head of the Operations and Chartering Division is a graduate of Transport Economics at the University of Gdańsk, with nearly 40 years of experience in the shipping and transport sector. He has managed numerous teams and corporate departments, including those responsible for specialized and liner cargo and tonnage, tanker operations, as well as shipbuilding, purchase and sale.

During the meeting, the fascinating and somewhat mysterious world of maritime shipping will be presented. Various forms of shipping (tramp/liner), types of vessels (bulk carriers, tankers, container ships, ro-ro/ferries), and related markets will be discussed. Different forms of chartering and charter-party contracts will also be explained, together with an overview of how chartering works. Moreover, the roles of key actors in this global sector, such as shipowners, ship managers, brokers and agents, will be addressed.
