3-day science outreach and public speaking workshops. Throw a Science Show in Cologne!

Who is behind innovative research activities at SEA-EU universities? Thanks to the Science Show, young researchers have the opportunity to showcase WHAT they do at the university, HOW they do it, and WHY. This year, Kiel University is inviting scientists from SEA-EU partner universities to get involved in the initiative!

“Behind every fascinating scientific topic, there are people. The Science Show gives them the space to put a human face to research. By sharing their passion with the audience, they create and nurture a bond between themselves, the audience, and the topics they present,”
says Ulf Evert, Science Show Coordinator.

Participants in the program will take part in a 3-day science communication workshop at Kiel University (September 23–25, 2025). After the training they will present their newly acquired skills during a 5-minute presentation as part of Science Day celebrations on September 26, 2025.

Some participants in this year’s initiative will also be invited to continue their science communication work within the SEA-EU alliance. The event organizers are looking for potential ambassadors from various scientific fields at SEA-EU universities. After returning from Kiel, the aim is to maintain collaboration and further strengthen science communication activities within SEA-EU.

A scholarship for program participants covers event participation, accommodation, travel, and per diem expenses. Applications are open until August 10. Candidates must submit a short CV and an abstract of their research.
