On November 18, 2022, a ceremony was held to award diplomas to Graduates of Master's Studies at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk in the academic year 2021/2022 of the following fields and specializations:
Business and Ecological Technology (interdisciplinary field conducted with the Faculty of Chemistry)
Telemedicine and Health Care Projects. Health Care Technology (interdisciplinary field conducted with the Faculty of Law and Administration)

The ceremony was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, dr hab. Monika Bąk, professor at the University of Gdańsk.
After listening to the Polish Anthem and the academic song Gaudeamus Igitur, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk, dr hab. Monika Bąk, professor at the University of Gdańsk, welcomed the guests invited to the ceremony: Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Quality, dr hab. Arnold Kłonczyński, professor at the University of Gdańsk, the Dean's Authorities, Specialization Supervisors, Professors, employers' representatives, and above all, the Graduates and their relatives who attended the ceremony.
The Dean, congratulating the Graduates, referred to the knowledge, skills and competences of the Graduates, paying attention to their good preparation to enter the labor market, the ability to cooperate and perceive emerging opportunities and challenges. The Dean thanked all those who contributed to their achievements, wished them much success in their careers and encouraged them to continue their personal development.
Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Quality, dr hab. Arnold Kłonczyński, professor at the University of Gdańsk, stated in his speech the value of university degree and the need for continuous development. Vice-Rector also referred to historical themes and allegories of Zeus and Europa, thus explaining the origin of the name of the European continent. At the end of his speech, the Vice-Rector congratulated all the Graduates on successful completion of their studies, wishing them many successes and the use of the acquired knowledge in their professional life.
Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economics for development and cooperation with the socio-economic environment, Dr Magdalena Markiewicz, invited the graduates who obtained the honors and best achievements in the specific fields and specializations.
Vice-Rector, dr hab. Arnold Kłonczyński, professor of the University of Gdańsk and the Dean, dr hab. Monika Bąk, professor at the University of Gdańsk, awarded prizes to the best graduates who obtained ranks in the fields of study and distinctions in specializations.
Then Vice-Rector and the Dean handed thanks and awards for graduates for their outstanding social activity for the academic community and sports achievements.
Distinctions for outstanding social activity were received by graduates of Master's studies: Natalia Kasprowicz, MA (Student Business Club), Magdalena Krot, MA (Electronic Business Student Club), Bartłomiej Liszewski, MA (HaZet Student Club), Adrianna Franczak, MA, Magdalena Reszka, MA and Kacper Zdrojkowski, MA (Logistics Student Club).
Distinctions for sports achievements were received by the graduates of Master's studies at the Faculty of Economics, representing University of Gdansk: Jakub Grzywacz, MA (1st place in the team classification in the general classification and 1st place in the type of universities during the Polish Academic Futsal Championships), Piotr Formaniewicz, MA (1st place individually in the type of universities during the Polish Academic Championships in Athletics, 100 m run and 2nd place in the team category in the type of universities during the Polish Academic Championships in Athletics).
The graduates who obtained the best honors, the best grades in specializations and distinctions for social and sports activities were honored with prizes and gifts funded by EU-Consult (represented by Mr Krzysztof Gutta), Flex Poland (represented by Ms Aneta Czoske and Mr Maciej Filarecki), State Street (represented by Ms Agata Torbińska) and University of Gdansk.
After the presentation of awards and distinctions, the Vice-Dean for Development and Cooperation with the Social and Economic Environment, Dr Magdalena Markiewicz, invited Mr Maciej Filarecki, IT Director, Flex Poland to speak on behalf of employers' representatives.
Director Maciej Filarecki referred to the development of the university, ongoing projects and experiences in cooperation between science and business, he also outlined the development prospects and the potential of the Graduates' competences. He pointed out that - just as during studies there are moments of successes and failures, and yet the day of awarding diplomas symbolizes the successful use of opportunities and overcoming difficulties - also in professional life graduates will encounter many opportunities, but also difficult moments. He appealed to never give up and - using competences, possibilities and knowledge - strive to achieve the intended goals. At the end of his speech, the Director once again congratulated the Graduates, wishing them continued development.
Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economics for development and cooperation with the socio-economic environment, Dr Magdalena Markiewicz asked for the speech on behalf of the Graduates:
- Sylwia Pogorzelska, MA (Economics, full-time master studies),
- Beata Wieczorkiewicz, MA (Telemedicine and Projects in Health Care. Health Care Technology, part-time master studies), representing the first cohort of graduates,
- Chanju Banda, MA (International Economic Relations, International Business, full-time master studies).
The graduates magnificently presented the value of time spent while studying at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk.
Ms Sylwia Pogorzelska, MA, recalled important moments from the time of studying at the Faculty, referring to how they affect the future of graduates. She expressed how much - thanks to knowledge and a sense of impact - now the graduates’ future depends on themselves, formulating the slogan “It depends - on us”. She also thanked the numerous families of all graduates, present at the Gala, for support in their development and education. Ms Beata Wieczorkiewicz, MA, paid special attention to the relationships with the lecturers during classes and seminars, as well as the friendships gained during studies, which are of great value. She strongly emphasized the importance of following the dreams throughout one’s life. Mr Chanju Banda, MA, referred to the criteria he followed when choosing studies, how many new skills and competences he gained during classes and study visits. He also highlighted that knowledge is the value that will outlast all material goods, is durable and worth its constant, further development.
The awaited part of the meeting was the presentation of graduation diplomas to all graduates.
Vice-Dean for Science, dr hab. Przemysław Borkowski, professor at the University of Gdańsk, invited graduates from particular fields, specializations and seminars one by one.
Diplomas were received by graduates of the following fields: Business and Ecological Technology, Telemedicine and Health Care Projects. Health Care Technology, Economics, International Economic Relations, including graduates of the International Business specialization in the field of International Economic Relations.
The diplomas were presented by the Dean, dr hab. Monika Bąk, professor of the University of Gdańsk, accompanied by the supervisors of the Master's seminars.
After handing over all the diplomas and congratulations, the Dean, dr hab. Monika Bąk, professor at the University of Gdańsk, thanked all guests and their relatives for coming to the 2022 Graduation Ceremony, and then asked to listen to the Anthem of the European Union.
The meeting ended with a session of unusual commemorative photos of Graduates of all fields and specializations.
