International Trade Specialization

International Trade Specialization

The International Trade specialization is designed for students aspiring to pursue managerial careers in companies, government institutions, and international organizations involved in foreign trade. The courses offered in this specialization are interconnected and directly related to the planning and execution of trade transactions in global markets.

Through a series of specialized courses, students first explore the broader environment of international trade, including topics such as industry markets, economic diplomacy, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). They then move on to more focused areas, such as product offering development, financing options, negotiation strategies, and risk management, all essential for conducting business in foreign markets. This curriculum provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make independent, well-informed trade decisions.

The program culminates in the Management of Transactional Cycles in Foreign Markets course. In their final semester, students work in groups of three to complete an independent trade transaction project. Their task is to develop a detailed scenario for a trade transaction in a chosen industry, targeting a specific foreign market. All decisions made within the project – such as selecting the target market, choosing trade partners, shaping the trade offer, drafting contract terms, selecting service providers for transport, insurance, finance, and customs, and preparing the full set of transaction documents – are based on the knowledge gained from specialized courses, as well as market research and data analysis. The completed transactional cycle is presented as a collective report and a business presentation for course evaluation. The assessment focuses on the accuracy of the content, the quality of the argumentation, and the effectiveness of public speaking skills.

In the part-time master's program, we offer one-semester modules focused on business operations in foreign markets. These modules include:

  • International Business Expansion,
  • Strategies in International Business.
