AI LAB Student Club Visits Intel Gdańsk: Building the Future of AI

On November 28, 2025, the AI LAB members had the valuable opportunity to visit the Intel headquarters in Gdańsk.

AI LAB is a student-led initiative focused on transforming curiosity into real-world AI experience, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and the needs of the rapidly evolving industry.

Practical workshop: Building your AI assistant

The central element? An exclusive, hands-on workshop titled “Building your AI assistant.”. Led by Intel expert Nikola Kraljevic, we didn't just listen—we gained a direct, practical view of the technical and strategic considerations that actually drive real-world AI development.

Key Learnings for Future Innovators

The workshop provided members with valuable insights that challenge common assumptions and improve efficiency in AI projects:

  • Efficiency Over Size: In the context of solving business problems, the analysis showed that for simpler predictions, massive Large Language Models (LLMs) are often slower and harder to use than simple regression models. This highlights the importance of selecting the right tool for the specific business problem.
  • AI as a Personal Guide: Students learned that coding expertise is not the only path. LLMs can be utilized to teach and guide users step-by-step through data preparation and analysis.
