Science for Business Congress with the participation of dr Andrzej Poszewiecki, Vice-President of Univentum Labs

On 19–21 November 2025, the 1st National Congress ‘Science for Business. Partnership, Action, Progress’ was held in Warsaw, a nationwide forum integrating the scientific community, business and public administration. Its aim was to create lasting mechanisms for cooperation between universities, research institutes and enterprises, and to accelerate the process of moving ‘from idea to industry’. The Congress was organised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Łukasiewicz Research Network in cooperation with the National Centre for Research and Development.

The programme of the Congress, which was opened by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, included discussion panels, specialist thematic tracks on innovation and new technologies, as well as an exhibition area presenting research projects and examples of effective cooperation between science and business.

Dr Andrzej Poszewiecki, an employee of the Faculty of Economics and Vice-President of Univentum Labs, a special purpose vehicle of the University of Gdańsk, took part in a panel discussion entitled ‘From scientist to unicorn. How to build an effective growth strategy for deep tech start-ups in Poland’ organised by the Ministry of Development and Technology. The debate focused on the challenges and opportunities facing the Polish deep tech sector, support for technology commercialisation and the scaling of technology companies in Poland. In his speech, Dr Andrzej Poszewiecki discussed, among other things, the results of research on special purpose vehicles and spin-off companies carried out as part of the WRASSO project.

The discussion was moderated by dr Agata Wancio, Deputy Director of the Department of Innovation and Industrial Policy at the Ministry of Development and Technology.
