Academic Parade “Long Live Science!”

On Saturday morning, October 4th, 2025, the streets of Gdańsk filled with academic spirit as the Academic Parade marched proudly through the city. The event was organized by the Daniel Fahrenheit Universities Union in cooperation with the City of Gdańsk. This traditional and solemn celebration marked the inauguration of the new academic year under the inspiring motto: “Long Live Science!”.

The parade brought together higher education institutions from the Pomeranian region, creating a vibrant procession of students, doctoral candidates, faculty members, and university authorities who walked through the streets of Gdańsk in a spirit of unity and academic festivity.

Despite the brisk wind and cool autumn air, participants were warmed by the uplifting atmosphere and musical accompaniment. The University of Gdańsk Academic Orchestra added a distinguished tone to the march, blending youthful enthusiasm with musical elegance.

The Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk was proudly represented by both the Faculty’s authorities and a delegation of students, emphasizing their belonging to the wider academic community and their commitment to the idea of connecting science, culture, and the city.

The colorful procession, accompanied by the orchestra and academic choirs, followed the Royal Route, concluding at Artus Court, the ceremonial heart of the event. There, the official part of the celebration took place, featuring speeches by university leaders, representatives of the City of Gdańsk, students, and doctoral candidates, all highlighting the importance of cooperation between the academic and civic communities, as well as the vital role of science in shaping a shared future.

Organized by the Daniel Fahrenheit Universities Union—a partnership between the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology, and Medical University of Gdańsk—the event stood as a living testament to the integration of the academic environment and the community of the City of Gdańsk.

May this exceptional event serve as a symbol of unity within the academic world and as a reminder of our continuous pursuit of growth and excellence. „Long live science!”, the source of inspiration, dialogue, and progress that unites generations and universities in the service of knowledge.
