Professor Giuseppe T. Cirella from the Faculty of Economics – among the 2% of the world’s most influential scientists

It is with great satisfaction that we announce that Dr. Giuseppe T. Cirella, Professor at the University of Gdańsk employed at the Faculty of Economics, has been included—based on last year’s citations—in the prestigious World's Top 2% Scientists ranking (compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier).

This annual ranking, prepared on the basis of comprehensive bibliometric analyses, highlights researchers with the greatest global impact. It takes into account not only the number of citations but also factors such as co-authorship, reflecting a scholar’s position within international research networks.

Being included in this elite group of 2% confirms that Professor Cirella’s publications are widely used and serve as an important point of reference in global research. His scientific interests encompass interdisciplinary areas related to sustainability, environmental management, spatial planning, and the interactions between society and the natural environment. His extensive academic output—over two hundred publications—as well as broad international collaborations, make him one of the most recognized researchers in his field.
