The tradition of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk is to participate in the Fahrenheit Science Picnic at the Hevelianum Centre
On Sunday, May 25, 2025, the Fahrenheit Science Picnic took place on the grounds of Hevelianum at Góra Gradowa in Gdańsk. The event brought together the academic communities of the three Tricity universities forming the Fahrenheit Union of Universities: the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology, and the Medical University of Gdańsk.
The Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk traditionally actively participated in the event by showcasing its educational and research activities. Academic staff and students affiliated with student scientific associations operating at the Faculty — including the Scientific Club of International Finance, the START-UP Student Entrepreneurship Club, the Logistics Scientific Club, and the Student Business Club — prepared an interactive booth that attracted significant interest from visitors. Guests had the opportunity to take part in economic quizzes and engage in discussions on sustainable socio-economic development, entrepreneurship, and the role of economics in the modern world.
The presence of the Faculty of Economics at the Fahrenheit Science Picnic provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen ties between the academic community and residents of Tricity. The event was held in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and many visitors praised the high substantive quality of the presented materials and the students' engagement.
The event coordinators on behalf of the UG Faculty of Economics were dr Magdalena Markiewicz and dr Aleksandra Bielawska from the Department of International Business, dr Ewa Ignaciuk from the Department of Microeconomics, with the great support of Ms. Aleksandra Dybek from the Dean's Office.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all Students and academic teachers involved in co-organising the event, for proudly representing the Faculty of Economics, for their valuable contribution to the promotion of science, and for helping to create an initiative of exceptional character.
We also would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Centre for Communication and Promotion at the University of Gdańsk for their excellent organisational support of the event.
