The Faculty of Economics and Gdańsk Educational Foundation sign an educational cooperation agreement
The Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk and the Gdańsk Educational Foundation have signed a cooperation agreement to enhance the quality of economic and financial education for students at Sopot Autonomous High School. The agreement was concluded on 21 July 2026.
The agreement was signed by Professor Wojciech Bizon, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, and Iwona Konieczka, Vice-President of the Management Board of the Gdańsk Educational Foundation.
On behalf of the Foundation, the cooperation will be coordinated by Iwona Konieczka and Paweł Andrzejczuk, Principal of Sopot Autonomous High School.
On behalf of the Faculty of Economics, the cooperation will be coordinated by Dr Magdalena Markiewicz, Vice-Dean for Development and Cooperation with the Socio-Economic Environment, Dr hab. Aleksandra Koźlak, Professor at the University of Gdańsk and coordinator of the Transport, Freight Forwarding and Logistics Business specialization, and Dr Leszek Reszka, Professor at the University of Gdańsk and coordinator of the Logistics in Business specialization.
The new partnership will provide the school with access to expert knowledge, inspiring educational activities and an academic environment that will help students make informed decisions about their further education and future careers.
For the Faculty of Economics, the cooperation will offer an opportunity to strengthen its relationships with young people, promote economic sciences and gain a better understanding of the needs and aspirations of prospective students.
Under the agreement, the Faculty of Economics will extend its patronage to classes specializing in economics and logistics and provide high school students with direct access to academia and business. Students will be able to participate in classes covering economics, finance, logistics, entrepreneurship, and business and management, as well as in lectures, conferences, debates, science festivals, open days, and research projects.
The agreement will also enable high school students to collaborate with student research clubs, participate in competitions and educational initiatives, and explore university programs and career paths in the economic sciences.
Previous joint initiatives undertaken by Sopot Autonomous High School and the Faculty of Economics, including students’ participation in Oxford-style debates organized at the Faculty, demonstrate the considerable potential for cooperation between the two communities and for developing valuable educational projects.
The Gdańsk Educational Foundation and Sopot Autonomous High School will also create opportunities to inform SAHS sstudents about academic initiatives and to jointly implement further educational projects organized by the University of Gdańsk.
This is a promising beginning to a long-term partnership in which knowledge, experience and youthful curiosity can come together to generate new ideas, ambitious projects and successes for both communities.
