Award Ceremony for the Winners of the Polish Economic Society Competition for the Best Master’s and Bachelor’s Theses
On April 14, 2026, at the headquarters of the Polish Economic Society, Gdańsk Branch, a ceremonial award presentation took place for the winners of the 29th edition of the Lucjan Hofman Master’s Thesis Competition and the 22nd edition of the Witold Andruszkiewicz Bachelor’s Thesis Competition for the year 2025.
We are proud to announce that theses prepared at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk received distinctions in both the competition for the best master’s thesis and the competition for the best bachelor’s thesis.
The Competition Committee awarded equal distinctions in the 29th edition of the Master’s Thesis Competition to the following graduates of the Faculty of Economics:
- Mr. Przemysław Sadowski, MA
Thesis titled: “The Impact of 20 Years of EU Membership on the Economic Situation of Central and Eastern European Countries and Cyprus in the Context of Geopolitical and Social Conditions”.
Thesis supervised by dr Magdalena Markiewicz, University of Gdańsk, Faculty of Economics, Department of International Business, Division of International Financial Markets.
- Mr. Wiktor Sobczyk, MA
Thesis titled: “The Potential of Polish Innovations in the Renewable Energy Sector for Energy Transition and Export Expansion”.
Thesis supervised by dr hab. Joanna Bednarz, professor at the University of Gdansk, University of Gdansk, Faculty of Economics, Department of International Business.
The Competition Committee also awarded a distinction in the 22nd edition of the Bachelor’s Thesis Competition to:
- Ms. Kinga Saramak, MA
Thesis titled: “The Concept of Green Ports as a Direction for the Development of Maritime Transport: The Case of the Port of Gdańsk”.
Thesis supervised by dr hab. Barbara Pawłowska, professor at the University of Gdansk, University of Gdańsk, Faculty of Economics, Department of Transport Economics.
