First Board Game Night at the Faculty of Economics, University of Gdansk

On March 27, at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk, on the initiative of Dr. Ewa Ignaciuk and with the support of Dr. Joanna Hartenberger-Liszek and Dr. Leszek Reszka, a professor at the University of Gdansk, the first board game night was held, organized by the Faculty of Economics’ Academic Clubs - Koło Naukowe Przedsiębiorczości START-UP, Studencki Klub Biznesu, Koło Naukowe Konsylium, Koło Naukowe Debaty Ekonomicznej, Naukowe Koło Logistyki, Koło Naukowe Finansów Międzynarodowych. 

The event drew a great deal of interest from students—around 150 participants attended the gathering, spending the evening together in an atmosphere of camaraderie, friendly competition, and good fun. During the event, participants had the opportunity to play many popular and beloved titles. The most popular ones were: Wsiąść do pociągu, Uno no mercy, Chińczyk, Czarne historie, Czółko bez cenzury, Dead by Deylight, Wiedźmin Gwint, 5 sekund, Rummikub, To nie kapelusz, Cashflow, Tajniacy, Jenga, popularne gry karciane, państwa-miasta, Mahjong, in which members of the Pomeranian Hahjong Association “Mahjong Kaszëbë” participated. The tables were occupied almost the entire time the event lasted.

The organizers also provided refreshments for the participants. Cookies, coffee, and tea were served. The smoked cheese proved to be a particular highlight, drawing great interest and disappearing quickly from the plates.

The board game night proved to be not only an opportunity for entertainment but also for bringing together students from different majors and class years. Participants were able to get to know each other better, spend time outside of class, and try their hand at games requiring logical thinking, strategy, and cooperation.

Due to the event’s very positive reception, the organizers are already announcing future editions of board game nights at the Faculty of Economics.
