On March 20, 2026, during the celebrations of the University of Gdańsk Day and the ceremonial meeting of the UG Senate, Dr hab. Monika Bąk, Professor at the University of Gdańsk's Faculty of Economics, was awarded the Scientific Award of the Rector of the University of Gdańsk, named after Professor Karol Taylor.
The Professor Karol Taylor Award is granted annually to researchers from the University of Gdańsk for outstanding research achievements and contributions to the development of science. This remarkable distinction awarded to dr hab. Monika Bąk, prof. UG is a recognition of her significant academic achievements and her contribution to the development of economics.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to dr hab. Monika Bąk, professor at the University of Gdańsk, on receiving the Scientific Award of the Rector of the University of Gdańsk named after Professor Karol Taylor!
The University of Gdańsk Day celebrations are also a time to honor individuals who have made particularly distinguished contributions to academic life and the university community.
The celebrations, held at the Faculty of History at the University of Gdańsk, also provided an opportunity to ceremonially renew the doctorate of Professor Józef Borzyszkowski, and the presentation of awards in the Krzysztof Celestyn Mrongowiusz "Teacher of the Year competition.
The University of Gdańsk Day was an exceptionally vibrant ceremony, highlighting the importance of science, education, and cooperation with the external environment for the region's socio-economic development and for building a modern, responsible, knowledge-based society.
Special significance was also attached to honoring the history and traditions of the Kashubians, highlighting their important role in shaping the region’s identity and the cultural heritage of Pomerania.
