Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk Open Day – Event Report
On 11 March 2026, the University of Gdańsk hosted its Open Day, during which students and lecturers from the Faculty of Economics presented the educational offer of our faculty and the opportunities that studying at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk provides. Secondary school students had the opportunity to learn what student life at the University of Gdańsk is like, explore the available study programmes, and receive guidance on how to choose their future educational path.
Participants could visit more than 50 thematic stands, attend programme presentations and lectures, and take part in tours of Radio MORS. The offers of all 11 faculties of the University of Gdańsk were presented in one place, allowing visitors to explore a wide range of study programmes. As every year, the event attracted many participants, primarily students considering pursuing their studies at the largest university in the Pomerania region.
The stand of the Faculty of Economics attracted considerable interest. Students from various programmes and specialisations, together with lecturers, spoke with prospective candidates about the faculty’s study offer, specialisations, student research clubs, the organisation of studies, opportunities to learn foreign languages, and participation in international exchange programmes. There were also many conversations about the atmosphere of studying at our faculty and student life at the Faculty of Economics.
The economic quizzes prepared for visitors were also very popular. Participants had the opportunity to test their knowledge of socio-economic phenomena, economic issues, and current global developments. The best participants received small prizes and gadgets featuring the logo of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk.
During the Open Day, participants could also attend a lecture titled “The Labour Market in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, prepared by dr Magdalena Markiewicz and dr Ewa Ignaciuk, with the support of dr Adam Borodo. During the meeting, the speakers discussed changes in the labour market in the context of AI development and presented the faculty’s educational offer, as well as the opportunities for applying new technologies in professions related to the programmes and specialisations offered at the Faculty of Economics.
The day was full of energy and inspiring meetings.
We would like to sincerely thank the students of our faculty for their great commitment to preparing the event and for sharing their knowledge and experience with all visitors with such passion and enthusiasm. You were the best ambassadors of our faculty!
