Inter-University Climate Forum at SGH: A Common Voice of Science, Business, and Society for the Climate
On the 22nd of October 2025, the First Inter-University Climate Forum was held at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. The event brought together experts, representatives of business, local governments, and non-governmental organizations to jointly seek solutions for climate protection, climate education, and sustainable development.
The conference focused on key issues related to climate change, sustainable development, and the role of business, local authorities, academia, and civil society in addressing the climate crisis. The main objective of the event was to integrate representatives from diverse sectors to exchange experiences and jointly develop effective climate action strategies, while fostering dialogue between science, business, society, and policymakers.
The special guest of the Forum was Mr. Kamil Wyszkowski, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Poland, who delivered a keynote lecture entitled “Climate Education: Can Knowledge Prevail Over Ignorance, and Why Multilateralism and Science-Based UN Standards and Goals Are the Guarantee of Homo Sapiens’ Survival.”
The Forum also featured two discussion panels: “Climate Transformation: Business, Local Governments, Society” and “Challenges of Climate Education – Expectations and Needs of Business, Public Administration, and Society.” The University of Gdańsk was represented in the discussions by Professor Anna Wojewnik-Filipkowska from the Faculty of Management and Professor Barbara Pawłowska from the Faculty of Economics.
The event was organized by the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the AGH University of Krakow (as partner institutions within the Inter-University Climate Academy), in cooperation with the University of Gdańsk.
