International Scientific Project with UG Participation Awarded Funding by the Polish-German Foundation for Science

We are pleased to announce that in July 2025 the project entitled “Energy Transition and Society: Attitudes Towards the Energy Transition in the Context of Changing Values in Poland and Germany” has been awarded funding under the simplified call for proposals of the Polish-German Foundation for Science (PNFN).

The application was positively evaluated and approved by the Foundation’s Board.

The project is led on the Polish side by Dr hab. Anna Maria Nikodemska-Wołowik, University of Gdańsk Professor, from the Department of Sustainable Market Processes at the Faculty of Economics. Her research will focus primarily on the consumer perspective within the studied area. The project is led by the German partner, Prof. Dr Michael Bucksteeg from FernUniversität in Hagen, specialising in energy economics, with dr Stefan Poier in this team. The initiative aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of societal attitudes towards the energy transition, set against the backdrop of dynamic value changes in both countries. The project represents a significant contribution to the development of Polish-German scientific cooperation.

We extend our sincere congratulations to the research team and wish them every success in the implementation of the project!
