The “Running Lecture” for WOŚP with the Dean of the Faculty of Economics is behind us!
As part of the 33rd Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP), the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk once again actively joined the fundraising efforts by offering unique auctions — including one particularly original item: a “Running Lecture with the Dean of the Faculty.”
On May 8th, 2025, during a sunny afternoon, the seaside boulevard in Sopot became not only the route for a recreational run, but also a space for a meaningful academic exchange. The Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Dr. hab. Wojciech Bizon, Prof. UG, led the participants through a 5-kilometre “lecture on the move,” during which they discussed the challenges of the modern economy and the directions of economic development.
The winners of the auction were second-year students of the International Economic Relations program, specializing in International Business – Paweł Domżalski and Krystian Jóźwiak. The participants emphasized that combining physical activity with a direct conversation with the Dean was not only an interesting experience, but also an inspiring one.
The “Running Lecture” is a great example of how supporting a noble cause can go hand in hand with creating opportunities to build academic relationships and promote knowledge in an unconventional form.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part in this year’s WOŚP Finale – whether by bidding or offering items for auction. Together, we proved that the Faculty of Economics community has a big heart and truly original ideas!
