Words of Solidarity and Sympathy for the University of Warsaw Community

With profound sorrow and deep concern, we received the news of the tragic events that occurred on May 7th at the University of Warsaw.

On behalf of the Dean's Office, academic staff, and the entire academic community of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk, we wish to express our heartfelt condolences, sympathy, and solidarity with the University of Warsaw community—especially with the Family and Loved Ones of the Victim.

May the days ahead become a time for reflection on the growing prevalence of violence and aggression—even in spaces that should remain devoted to mutual respect, safety, and academic dialogue.

We join in mourning and contemplation.

Moved by the tragic events at the University of Warsaw, we would also like to inform you that the Academic Centre for Psychological Support at the University of Gdańsk is offering psychological assistance to members of our academic community.

Designated staff from the Centre will be available on duty from May 8th to 10th at the University Library and the Faculty of Social Sciences.
