Case study contest for the Gdynia Maritime University and the University of Gdańsk Students organized by Ocean Network Express LTD.
CONTEST REGULATIONS
- The purpose of the contest is to inspire and cultivate interest in maritime transport among young talents by encouraging them to explore and present a case study about "The Impact of Geopolitical Shifts on Global Shipping: analyse the impact of geopolitical events (e.g., trade wars, regional conflicts, political instability) on global shipping routes, trade flows, and port operations.”
- This contest is organized for 3rd year or above students of Gdynia Maritime University in the field of Navigation, Transportation, or Innovative Economy as well as the University of Gdańsk students in the area of Transportation & Logistics, Maritime Trade or International Economy.
- To take part in the contest, students must prepare a presentation according to the given topic.
- The presentation must be prepared in English and have a maximum of 10 slides of content (plus opening and end slide, total of 12 slides).
- The opening slide should include: Name and surname, subject of the thesis, name of the university, faculty, specialization and year of study.
- The presentation regarding research in the area of the contest topic must be sent in PDF format.
- The presentation must be submitted to the following e-mail address: pl.hr@one-line.com by 15.04.2025.
- While submitting the presentation contestants must include the GDPR clause in the e-mail with the following statement: I hereby give consent for my personal data to be processed by Ocean Network Express LTD for the purpose of conducting the 2025 case study contest.
- Out of all participants from the University of Gdańsk and Gdynia Maritime University, 5 best presentations, selected by Ocean Network Express Jury consisting of employee representatives, will be advanced to the final. Presentations will be evaluated and ranked on 5 item scale based on the following criteria:
- To what extent does the solution meet the needs of today's market?
- How innovative is the idea?
- To what extent is the implementation of the solution assessed in the socio-economic sphere?
- Overall idea presentation evaluation.
- In the Case Study Contest Grand Finale, students will present their case study in English to Ocean Network Express and both Universities representatives and will answer questions about their case study.

a. Participants will be notified of their qualification for the final by 6:00 pm on April 18th , 2025.
b. Final presentations will be held on April 25th, 2025 between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, at the Ocean Network Express office, Grunwaldzka str., 415, 80-309 Gdansk . - 3 best presentations will be awarded 6 months paid Internship in the Ocean Network Express office in Gdańsk.
- Ocean Network Express guarantees an internship within 1 year from Case Study Contest Finale.
- Along with the internship 3 winners will be awarded the following money prize:
- 1st prize 2,000 PLN
- 2nd prize 1,500 PLN
- 3rd prize 1,000 PLN
- In case of not having an appropriate number of contestants (minimum 6), to fairly select the best-case studies, Ocean Network Express reserves the right to prolong the deadline to submit the presentation as well as organise the final.
- Intellectual property of awarded presentations will be transferred to ONE before the final of the contest. Students will be asked to sign an agreement regarding intellectual property rights before the presentations.
