Dilemmas of the Contemporary Economy
On January 31, 2025, the conference titled "Dilemmas of the Contemporary Economy" took place at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdansk, with the participation of international guests.
The conference began with a plenary session, featuring speeches by: Prof. Dr. Eduardo Medeiros (Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal and Lisbon University Institute), Prof. Dr. Rodrigo Martín-Rojas (Department of Business Management, University of Granada), Prof. Dr. Andrzej Cieślik (University of Gdańsk / University of Warsaw), and Dr Hab. Krzysztof Falkowski, Prof. SGH (Warsaw School of Economics).
After the plenary session, participants continued their discussions in smaller thematic panels aimed at gathering experts from various fields. Over 30 invited guests presented at the conference.
The conference covered a wide range of topics, reflected in the panel titles: global economic conditions, sustainable development, modern solutions in transportation and logistics, the application of technology and innovation in the economy, finance, and taxes, the economy from an industry perspective, and behavioral aspects of economics.
The conference summary emphasized that such events provide an excellent opportunity to integrate the academic community and establish cooperation on joint research projects. The conference was also a valuable opportunity to familiarize oneself with the research areas pursued by different departments and different universities.
The papers submitted to the conference will be published, if having positive reviews, in a special issue of the journal Contemporary Economy later this year. We already encourage you to read it!
