Together we will overcome the wave

Dear Students, PhD Students and Employees of the University of Gdańsk

In response to the difficult situation of people affected by the flood in Poland, the UG Student and PhD Activity Centre, the UG Library and other units are organising a collection of goods. Your help may prove invaluable to those affected.

The collection will be carried out at the UG faculties, and only the following items are needed:

  • bottled water,
  • food with an extended expiry date (e.g. canned food, dry food),
  • pet food,
  • cleaning agents (e.g. soap, disinfectants), hygiene materials, rubber gloves,
  • school supplies (notebooks, pens, backpacks),
  • power generators,
  • power banks, batteries, candles.

Please only deliver the products listed above. To ensure efficient distribution and actual needs, we do not accept other items.

Cartons marked with posters will be prepared at the faculties, where you can put the products you bring. All collected items will be given to those in need in the regions most affected by the disaster.

You can also put good quality pet food in the boxes:

What food should you avoid?
- those that contain cereals as the first ingredients

- those that contain the phrases "animal products" = worthless waste
