Professor Dr. Wilhelmus Molle
Recognized expert in the field of European integration, a longtime adviser to the European Commission and other international institutions
Professor Dr. Wilhelmus Molle was born in 08/12/1942, in Veldhoven, the Netherlands. After graduating economics in Tilburg School of Economics, he obtained a Ph.D. at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. As a professor, he worked at many universities : University of Limburg Maastricht, Rheinisch Westfälische Hochschule Aachen , Erasmus University Rotterdam , where he works to this day. He has also lectured in other countries, including China, France, Belgium, Italy and Poland.
Professor Willem Molle is a leading expert in international economic integration. Conducted research and teaching, focus on theoretical, practical and political aspects of economic integration in Europe. He has published more than 20 books on European integration , including the academic book "Economics of European Integration" , which is the basis for students studying the problems of European integration.
He was the expert at the European Commission for many years. In 1969 he began working with the Netherlands Economic Institute, where he was an expert, and the Director. In the following years he was a member of the Board of Directors of the ECORYS. He was also a member of: Dutch ECSA, International Social and Economic Affairs, and the President of the European Economic Research and Advisory Consortium. For 25 years, working closely with the Department of Economics, University of Gdansk , in particular with the Research Centre on European Integration.
In 14.11.2013, he received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Gdansk for work for the nonviolent cooperation of states and nations by promoting the development of European economic integration.
