Study visit of International Business and Logistics & Mobility students at the Maritime Culture Centre in Gdansk
Last week, a group of International Business and Logistics & Mobility students participated in a study visit to the Maritime Culture Centre in Gdańsk.
The group was supervised by Tomasz Laskowicz from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk. The study classes were an optional addition to the classes carried out as part of the Blue Economy subject for the students.
The Maritime Culture Centre, a branch of the National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk, is a modern centre for knowledge about the sea, ships, ports, and shipyards. The facility combines interactive exhibitions with unique architecture that fits into the panorama of the Motława waterfront.
The work during the study visit was divided into two parts. The first included group work at the permanent exhibition "Boats and Ports of the World". The students documented selected issues related to the exhibition's subject, such as technological progress in navigation. The second part of the visit was devoted to the exhibition "Offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea". After a short introduction, the participants carried out tasks in groups, using the knowledge gained during the analysis of the exhibits.
The visit ended with a summary and a lively discussion in which students actively participated, asking questions and sharing conclusions. Thanks to the students' commitment and solid work, the meeting turned out to be a valuable supplement to academic classes and an inspiring experience for the participants.
We want to thank the Dean of the Faculty of Economics for making this project possible, and we hope to continue similar initiatives in the future.
