Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Management were the first and only ones at the University of Gdańsk which joined the SAP University Alliances Program (SAP UA). On September 20, 2013, the University of Gdańsk joined the group of several Polish universities participating in the program and to a group of 1,300 scientific institutions from around the world that use one of the most popular tools for managing economic processes in University’s scientific and didactic processes.

The goal of the SAP UA program is to promote IT solutions supporting managing processes in organizations by training for scientific and teaching staff and students, as well as providing low-paid licenses for SAP software (including SAP ERP). Under this type of license, Faculty of Economics implemented the SAP ERP 6.0 system in 2013 together with the GBI database and since the winter semester of the 2013/2014 academic year Faculty has been conducting classes using this tool (The use of SAP ERP in sales and warehouse management, Resources planning tools in logistics, Supply management and production planning in SAP ERP).

The person responsible for cooperation with SAP UA at the Faculty of Economics is Agnieszka Szmelter-Jarosz, PhD.
