Data storytelling - lecture with a practitioner

On December 13, 2023 (Wednesday) at 3.15-4.45 P.M., we invite the students and academics to the lecture led by Mr. Nicolas Filliol, Service Lead Manager at Accenture.

The topic of the meeting is "Data storytelling".

The classes will be held in room C301 in building C at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk, Sopot, ul. Armii Krajowej 119/121. The lecture will be conducted in English.

Data storytelling is a business skill that involves translating complex data and analytical findings into a compelling and easy-to-understand narrative. The goal is to communicate insights effectively to a non-technical audience, such as stakeholders, clients, or team members.

Mr. Nicolas Filliol (Accenture) has many years of experience in international markets, including Europe, Asia and Africa.

Mr Nicolas Filliol's experience covers leading 140+ finance and accounting analysts to deliver business outcomes to the Medtech giant. Previously, he was a delivery manager for an Asian contract, with 3 direct lead reports and 60 team members, responsible for overall contract performance. 

Working for a world-leading industrial company and its several branches, he managed a multi-million USD portfolio of 6000+ customers in Europe and Asia centres.

He was engaged in Accenture's new client visits and due diligence for companies willing to outsource their operations. As a Team Lead for the Middle East and Africa, Benelux, UK and Italy was responsible for ca. 40M euros of receivables, building targets and driving operations of credit and collections analysts. His duties also covered risk assessment of credit limit, payment terms, order management, and follow-up on legal cases.

The lecture will be attended by students specializing in international finance and banking, majoring in international economic relations, and students specializing in business economics, majoring in economics.

The lecture will be held as part of the cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk and Accenture.

The cooperation coordinator is Dr. Magdalena Markiewicz, vice-dean for development and cooperation with the socio-economic environment at FoE UG.
