Graduation ceremony

On November 22, 2019, it took place the ceremony of awarding diplomas to the Graduates of the Master's Degree in Economics at the University of Economics, academic year 2018/2019, of the following fields and specializations:

After listening to the Polish National Anthem and academic hymn of Gaudeamus Igitur, the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Monika Bąk, welcomed guests: Mrs. Vice-Rector of the University of Gdansk, Dean's Authorities, Supervisors, Professors, and above all Graduates who came to the ceremony.

The Vice-Rector for Information Technology and Internationalization of University of Gdansk, Professor Aneta Oniszczuk-Jastrząbek, congratulated all Graduates on successful graduation, wishing them many successes and using their knowledge in professional life.

Then the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Professor Monika Bąk, congratulating, thanked everyone who contributed to the Graduates’ success and encouraged them to continue their academic degrees.

The Vice-Dean for Science, Professor Przemysław Borkowski, invited people who obtained the highest average grades as part of their studies. The Vice-Rector Professor Aneta Oniszczuk-Jastrząbek, and the Dean Professor Monika Bąk, presented awards to the best graduates who obtained the highest grades at the Faculty of Economics and distinctions in specializations.

After presenting the awards for the best graduates in specializations, the Vice-Dean for development and cooperation with business, Dr. Magdalena Markiewicz, asked for a speech a special guest, Mr Artur Gronkiewicz, Vice-President of the Board of Sony Pictures Entertainment, representative of the Council of Experts of the Faculty of Economics.

Mr Artur Gronkiewicz gave his insight, observations and advice on planning graduate’s professional life, also referring to years spent during studies.

Then, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Professor Monika Bąk together with Mr Artur Gronkiewicz passed to the graduates of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk the distinctions for their activities for the academic community, e.g. in the Scientific Circles, the Local Government Council and sports achievements.

Then, the Vice-Dean dr Magdalena Markiewicz asked to speak Mr. Robert Wasilewski on behalf of the graduates and Mr. Oleg Gurshev on behalf of the English-speaking graduates, who both excellently summarized the time spent studying at the Faculty of Economics.

The most emotional point of the meeting was the handing of a diploma to all graduates. Diplomas were handed by the Vice-Rector, Ms. Dean accompanied by the Promoter.

After awarding all diplomas and congratulations, Vice-Dean for Science, Professor Przemysław Borkowski, asked for an uprising, then everyone sang the European Union Anthem.

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Professor Monika Bąk thanked all the guests and their relatives for coming to the 2019 Alumni Gala.

The meeting ended with commemorative photos of Graduates of all specialisations. Alumni's faces were full of joy and emotion, which was also the case of both guests and the academic staff.

Once again, Congratulations to all graduates, wishing them many successes in their professional and personal lives!
