Polish Economic Association Competition resolved

A graduate of International Economic Relations, University of Gdansk, specializing in International Finance and Banking, MSc. Agnieszka Rocławska won the Prize in the Lucian Hofman Award Competition for the best Master Theses devoted to contemporary economic problems, organized by the Polish Economic Society (PTE) in Gdansk. It was the 17th edition of the competition organized by the PTE. Thesis on 'Business angels as an alternative form of investment on international capital markets' was written at the Department of International Financial Markets at the Faculty of Economics, University of Gdansk, under the direction of Dr. Slawomir Antkiewicz.

Polish Economic Society in Gdansk awarded also in the competition Msc. Małgorzata Werpachowska, a graduate of International Economic Relations, specializing in International Finance and Banking, for her work on 'The concept of pyramid schemes focusing on abuses in the Polish market' (supervisor: Dr. Slawomir Antkiewicz).

In the Contest for Undergraduate Chapter of the PTE Contest Ms Joanna Czaplicka awarded prize for work on "Modeling the exchange rate of the Chinese yuan in the context of the growing importance of the Chinese economy in the international arena" (supervisor: Dr. Magdalena Markiewicz ) and Ms Anna Wilczewska for the work on 'The analysis of the shadow banking system in the light of the financial crisis years of 2007 - 2009" (supervisor: Dr. Iwona Sobol).

The award ceremony will be held at the headquarter of the Polish Economic Society in Gdansk.
