Masters of Didactics Program
Dr Magdalena Markiewicz took a study visit to University College London, Institute of Education on November 14-27, 2021, where she completed a 75-hour study visit. training as part of the two-week Masters of Didactics program. The visit was originally scheduled two years before, but due to pandemic reasons, it was repeatedly postponed.
It is a non-competitive implementation project under POWER, co-financed by the European Social Fund. The University of Gdańsk has been participating in the "Masters of Didactics" program since 2019, cooperating with universities such as Aarhus University (Denmark), Ghent University (Belgium), University of Groningen (Netherlands) and University of Oslo (Norway).
University College London is ranked 8th in the 2022 QS World University Rankings. UCL was rated the top university in the UK for research strength in the most recent Research Excellence Framework.
There have been 30 Nobel Prize laureates amongst UCL’s alumni and current and former staff to date. UCL was the first university in England to welcome students of any religion, and to welcome women to university education. It is a university that attaches great importance to the quality of teaching, conducting programs to activate students, including tutoring methods as part of most of the lectures and tutorials.
The aim of the "Masters of didactics" project is to increase the competences of academic staff in the field of applying modern, innovative teaching methods in education, such as tutoring. The project aims at the development of concepts and implementation of new solutions in the field of tutoring and academic teaching.
At the Faculty of Economics, tutoring courses under the "Masters of Didactics" program at University College London have already been completed by Dr. Elżbieta Babula, Dr. Magdalena Mosionek-Schweda and Dr. Renata Orłowska.
As part of the tutoring implementation program at the Faculty of Economics, there is currently a large group of tutors, which significantly improves the quality of education based on international models. The initiator of tutoring at the Faculty was dr hab. Barbara Pawłowska, prof. UG.
