to the 8th International Scientific Conference

CHALLENGES OF THE GLOBAL ECONOMY 2016

which is taking place on the 19th and 20th of May 2016
at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdansk

The beginning of this century has established the belief that the balance of the development is broken and that the future shape of the world economy is difficult to predict. As a result, we are immediately forced to establish new economic rules and strive for new theoretical concepts corresponding to the current economic reality.

The links between the economy, politics and culture make us accept an interdisciplinary approach to describing the ongoing globalization process, which consequently allows us to establish the tools aimed at alleviating economic imbalances and social, political tensions and at fostering innovation and foreign trade. 

The increasing importance of international cooperation in the development of the Polish economy and the perspective of Poland entering the Eurozone make the abovementioned circumstances of the world economy development substantially important for our country. They translate into qualitative changes in the new reality of the world economy covering the achievement of financial goals, not to mention social values. All the issues mentioned above will be handled at the next conference “Challenges of the Global Economy” to be held at the Faculty of Economics, University of Gdańsk in Sopot, on 19-20 May 2016. The aim of the conference is to use the articles presented and the accompanying discussions as a stimulus to formulate practical solutions and as an inspiration to conduct further research into the future of the world economy development.
