The representative of the Faculty in the Council

In January 2021, Professor Monika Bšk, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk,  and Head of the Department of Transport Economics, was appointed by the Mayor of Gdańsk to the group of experts of the Council for Mobility and Transport as a representative of the University of Gdańsk.





The Council will be an advisory and opinion-making body to the Mayor of Gdańsk.

The aim of the Mobility and Transport Council is to recommend solutions to the Mayor of Gdańsk, aimed in particular at:

  • development of collective transport as an element of a sustainable transport system that meets the needs of residents related to movement;
  • reducing the demand for transport through appropriate spatial planning;
  • changes in the division of transport tasks in favor of public transport, as well as pedestrian and bicycle transport;
  • providing precisely targeted information for residents;
  • the use of the most modern technologies in order to increase the efficiency of transport.


Congratulations on the nomination to the Council! We wish successful work for the socio-economic environment!

The invitation to work in the team was accepted by representatives of institutions, companies and associations operating in Gdańsk.

Dr. Piotr Kuropatwiński, a former employee of the Faculty of Economics, as a representative of the European Council of Cyclists, was also invited to participate in the Council.
